Early in Disc 3, in the Great Salt Lake, there is a boss known as Abadon. It is a vague skeleton type of monster and I draw attention to it because it is capable of using its long black tongue to slap one of the characters.

Pandemona, the bizarre looking wind element Guardian Force can be acquired by drawing it from certain boss enemies. The first chance to acquire Pandemona is in Disc 2, and is drawn from the ‘Commander’ during Balamb’s occupation. The second chance is to draw it in Disc 4 when fighting Red Giant. When summoned in battle, Pandemona will inhale the enemy, holding them within its air-sac (which also looks like its tail) before blowing them out in a tornado.

Final Fantasy VIII – T-Rexaur

Publisher: Squaresoft (now Square Enix)
Platform:  PS1, PSN, PC

Early in Disc 1, one may encounter a powerful enemy known as ‘T-Rexaur’ in the Balamb Garden Training Center or the forest outside Fire Cavern and is capable of a biting attack. Of course, dozens of enemies in this game will use a biting attack and very few if any will get mentioned here specifically. However, aside from the basic bite attack, at higher levels (either from raising the levels of the playable characters themselves, or raising the enemies’ level via Tonberry’s ‘LV Up’ command ability) T-Rexaur is capable of a slightly different biting attack where he will grab one of the characters in his jaws, lift them up in the air before tossing them back.

Gooooooo – Monster Fish

Platform: iOS

Gooooooo is a simple game where one controls a very Bomberman-esque robot-like character to avoid being swallowed by the monster fish. To swim, the screen must be swiped left and right. Each stage gets progressively harder and harder, and if the fish catches up, it will gulp the character whole with a satisfied look on its face. This happens in a split second so is often difficult to see.

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile – Nahatomb

The following is particularly spoiler-heavy.

The last boss of the game is known as Nahatomb and is described to be a ‘nightmare’ entity. Aside from spawning lesser enemies from the spines of his back and a generic slam attack using his limbs, Nahatomb’s first form can open his mouth wide and extend a long, red tongue to try and ensnare Klonoa, who must jump over it several times like a jump rope. Failure to do so successfully results in Nahatomb pulling Klonoa into his gaping maw, swallowing him and then ejecting him out of the spines of his back.

Once defeated, Nahatomb will inhale Klonoa to fight his second form, though his insides do not look biological. His second and third form do not seem able to eat Klonoa.
