Media: video game: “Kingdom II: Shadoan”
Developer: Virtual Image Productions
Platform: CDi, Computer, DVD player

Description:

After defeating the plague magician with the army, some horsemen can take Lathan to Shadoan from High Pass. Rohan’s Cave can be accessed using a Traveling Scroll at Two Roads (obtained from Daelon’s Portal).

Rohan the red dragon will give Lathan a simple trial – to select the shield with the correct emblem of Falworth, as seen before and after the fight with the plague magician. If either the centre or right shields are selected, Rohan will grab Lathan in his mouth off-screen. Lathan is seen kicking his legs as Rohan swallows him whole with an impressive bulge going down his throat and licks his lips afterwards.

leave a comment »

Media: video game: “Kingdom II: Shadoan”
Developer: Virtual Image Productions
Platform: CDi, Computer, DVD player

Description:

Early in the game, when traveling south to Trickster’s Gully, Torlok will appear and mention that a female dragon will awaken to “destroy” him. Daelon will chime in and say that the dragon will sleep for another year if he travels to Blackreach.

Although the hourglass will not be running, if Lathan lingers for an extended period (~70 seconds) around the area, a scene will play where the black dragon swoops in, carrying Lathan away in her jaws off-screen to presumably be eaten.

It is implied that this dragon may be the “dragon without honor,” that Rohan mentions is his sister, Erin.

Last Cloudia [And, iOS] – Pokkle Eater / Various

leave a comment »

Media: video game: “Last Cloudia”
Developer: Aidis
Platform:
Android, iOS

Description:

The Pokkle Eater is a large, tentacled plant creature that can be fought in an optional sub quest. In battle, it will frequently reach underground with its tentacles to pull out four Pokkles, and swallow them to restore a large amount of health. Other than this. it will occasionally open its main, flower-like mouth wide to grab a character, chewing them and then spitting them out, but will never swallow a character, even if they lose all their HP as a result of the attack.

The Pokkle Eater can be reached partway through the Odal continent after following a certain number of steps in Badal Rainforest:

  • In the main quest Forest Wandering, move left after each battle.
  • Complete the sub quest Pokkle’s Day Out.
  • In the main quest In Forest Dark and Dreary, move left after each battle.
  • Complete the sub quest Follow Your Nose.
  • In the main quest Honesty and Trust, move straight after each battle.
  • Complete the sub quest A Buggy Calculation.
  • Complete the sub quest Finding the Path.
  • Try to enter the newly unlocked Hidden Pokkle Plains twice.
  • Sub quest A Pokkle’s Natural Foe is unlocked in Samel Village, where the Pokkle Eater can be fought.

The Pokkle Eater can be seen in the Ark of the same name, and is seen grabbing a Pokkle with one of its jawed tentacles, and swallowing another using one of its right (screen’s left) jawed tentacles occasionally, indicating they are indeed extra mouths.

In Chapter 2 of the limited time event Angel and the Fiend, there is a palette-swapped version of the Pokkle Eater, known as Holy Gourmet Phagodelus. In the Beyond White quest of this event, Godhunter Shin comes across a collapsed man, who tells him of Phagodelus, who ate his caravan crew after he abandoned them to run away. Immediately after this in the Road to Roguedom quest, there is a story sequence showing various collapsed beasts in the snow, eventually panning to Phagodelus, who then reaches off-screen to devour them, before it is confronted by Godhunter Shin. Much like the Pokkle Eater, Phagodelus can also grab party members in its flower-like mouth to chew on them briefly before spitting them out in battle.

Neopets [Web] – Tiger, Frog / Kacheek, Quiggle

Media: video game: “Neopets”
Developer: The Neopets Team
Platform: Web

Description:

The very old Flash-based choose-your-adventure story game, ‘The Haunted House” can be found in the Haunted Woods hub in Neopia. It features a Kacheek and Quiggle exploring a haunted house after their car breaks down, and choosing various paths can result in the deaths of the main characters, with somewhat crude animations available, if the skull in the top right corner is clicked. If the player chooses to go to the back yard, they are presented with two choices to navigate to, both of which results in a dead end.

The abandoned zoo has two giant tigers that “have not been fed since 1850.” The accompanying animation shows a close-up of the main characters, who are grabbed by a giant paw that pulls them to be eaten off screen. A gulp can be heard soon after.

The swampy, dirty fountain houses a giant frog that leaps out of the water, uses its large tongue to grab the main characters and swallows them before returning into the fountain water once again.
