Paper Mario: Color Splash [Wii U] – Yoshi / Mario

with one comment

Media: video game: “Paper Mario: Color Splash”
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Platform:
Wii U

Description:

In Emerald Circus, the second-to-last course of the game, there is a cage full of Yoshis behind the circus tent. In front of the cart is a balled up Toad, who says he was chewed up and spat out by a Yoshi when he tried to pet it. If Mario tries to peel the tape keeping the cage closed, a red Yoshi will grab Mario with its tongue, rolling him up into a roll of paper, before pulling him into its mouth. It will chew on him and spit him out, causing 5HP of damage. Huey will become angry with the Yoshi, but is seemingly more concerned about Mario’s state of cleanliness than his well-being. This can be repeated, after which Huey will say, “HOW RUDE! At least buy the guy dinner first. Sheesh!” It is possible to do this until Mario’s HP reaches 0, triggering a game over, but the Yoshi will never swallow Mario. Once the circus show begins, this can no longer be done.

During the circus battle, prior to fighting the boss, a randomly-colored Yoshi will interrupt Mario’s attacks every few turns, by trying to chew on him in a similar way. If Mario succeeds in blocking, he will not be pulled into Yoshi’s mouth, but if he fails, he is again rolled up and pulled into its mouth, chewed and spit out. This causes Mario to lose a card he was going to play next, but not lose any HP.
