The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Like-Like

leave a comment »

Media: video game: “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time″
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform:  N64, Gamecube, Wii Virtual Console

At several points in the game you will encounter Like-Likes, strange, stout, worm-like, slug-like enemies that are notorious for eating your equipment. They are first encountered in the Fire Temple  as an adult and can be found in every major dungeon after it including the Gerudo Training Grounds, as well as at the Bottom of the Well as a child (after learning the Song of Storms).

If you get near it, the Like-Like will slowly approach you and stretch its mouth toward you. Regardless of whether it does this or not, getting too close will cause it to grab you and suck you in, squishing you about for a while before spitting you out. Depending on what equipment you were wearing at the time, you may find it missing, such as the Goron Tunic, Zora Tunic, Hylian Shield and perhaps the Deku Shield.

Spyro’s companion, Sparx the Dragonfly serves a number of purposes. Among being able to locate and collect gems, Sparx also acts as Spyro’s health meter in this game. Depending on how much health Spyro has remaining, Sparx may be gold in colour, blue, green or simply absent. In order to restore some health, Sparx must eat butterflies either contained in jars or from defeating an enemy.

Media: video game: “Zombies Ate My Neighbours”
Developer: LucasArts
Platform: Genesis, SNES, Wii VC

Description:

Level 20 is known as ‘Invasion of the Snakeoids’, which first features the giant underground worm-like enemies. Initially, they appear only as moving soil when seen from above and will not attack if the player does not move, but will suddenly erupt out of the ground if the player steps in the ‘wrong’ spot in relation to them. They attack by licking and swinging around their long pink tongues covered in green saliva though will not grab or engulf a player.

If one wishes to reach level 20 in a hurry, they can input the password FKYQ to begin at level 17.
