Media: video game: “Crazy Kangaroo”
Developer: Gamelion
Platform: Android, iOS

Note:

This game no longer appears to be available at the time of writing.

Description:

In this mobile game, the player must control Barney, a kangaroo, to run from his pursuers, hopping across bodies of water. Late in the first stage there are hippos that can be used as platforms, but will occasionally open their mouths, during which time they are considered a hazard. Similarly in the second stage, there are giant flytraps that will behave identically to the hippos. If one looks closely, however, falling in their mouths with one life left will not cause Barney to disappear into the mouth, but strangely fly off-screen.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom [PS4, Switch, XBONE] – Jin (Human, Pig) / Truffle

leave a comment »

Media: video game: “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom”
Developer: Game Atelier
Platform: PS4, Switch, XBONE

Description:

Throughout the game, there are truffle power-ups that grant the use of magical abilities. The first is gifted to Jin very early in the game while he is still human, who is reluctant to eat it because of how cute it looks, however he is told they “want to be eaten,” which contradicts their facial expressions as it happens. He promptly shoves it into his mouth.

All subsequent truffles can only be devoured by Jin while he is in pig form, as he is the only one that can unearth them. The differences being that as a pig, Jin will toss them in the air before eating them, and let out a little fart after doing so.

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos [Computer] – Kodo Beast, Salamander Lord, Storm Wyrm / Various

with one comment

Media: video game: “Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos”
Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
Platform:
Computer

Note:

This entry also features data, images and captures are taken from the Warcraft III: Reforged version, with the Classic appearance applied.

Description:

The kodo beast unit – somewhat resembling a large rhinoceros – is first usable in the third chapter of the Orc Campaign, but can be accessed at any time with the use of the Warcraft III World Editor. Kodo beasts have the ability Devour, allowing them to swallow an enemy unit whole (though cannot Devour heroes, air units, high level enemies, or other units that also have the Devour ability). Swallowed enemies are removed from the map, with a loud ‘splat’ sound and a splash of purple saliva, and their portrait is displayed in red in the kodo beast’s status bar, with their health bar slowly depleting – signifying digestion damage. Once their health bar is depleted, the kodo beast belches, with bones and other remains being expelled, and can once again use their devour ability. If slain before digestion is complete, the swallowed unit is freed.

There are other neutral units that the player would not normally be able to command (without use of the World Editor) that are related to the kodo beast and are based on the same model:

  • Salamander Lord, resembling a large red kodo, who burps flame after completely digesting a unit.
  • Storm Wyrm, resembling a large green kodo, who burps lightning after completely digesting a unit.

Please note though, at the time of writing, it appears the swallowing animation and the burping animation have been mistakenly switched for the Salamander Lord and the Storm Wyrm, in the Reforged/Classic version. It is unclear if or when this will be fixed. In the original 1.00 version, a different animation error is present, in which these units will correctly chomp other units, but instead of displaying the burp animation, will display the swallowing animation again.
