Media: video game: “Gooooooo”
Developer: phyllis_thm
Platform: iOS

Description:

Gooooooo is a simple game where one controls a very Bomberman-esque robot-like character to avoid being swallowed by the monster fish. To swim, the screen must be swiped left and right. Each stage gets progressively harder and harder, and if the fish catches up, it will gulp the character whole with a satisfied look on its face. This happens in a split second so is often difficult to see. Read the rest of this entry »

Chrono Trigger [DS, iOS, PS1, SNES] – Tyrano / Player

Media: video game: “Chrono Trigger”
Developer: Squaresoft
Platform: DS, iOS, PS1, SNES.

Description:

Around halfway into the game, when forced to travel to 65,000,000 B.C. for the second time, one will eventually fight the boss ‘Black Tyrano’ along with the leader of the Reptites, Azala. One of the Tyrano’s attacks is to flick an unfortunately poorly animated tongue (in actuality, a series of red circles) to one of your party members, pulling them into its mouth. Similarly, near the end of the game, during the quest to find the Rainbow Shell, you will fight another version of the same boss, known as the Rust Tyrano, with an identical tongue attack. Read the rest of this entry »

Media: video game: “Chrono Cross”
Developer: Squaresoft
Platform: PS1

Description:

Very early in the game, in the Shadow Forest of Another World, there exists a four legged plant-like enemy known as the Quadffid, though can only be fought once at this point in the game. Otherwise, these enemies can be fought again in the Hydra Marshes in Another World provided you have the Green Tinkler to manipulate the area’s plants or the Beeba Flute to open up an alternative pathway around.

When fighting, the Quadffid may sometimes use its Devour ability, which allows it to inhale one of your characters, chew them up and spit them out. The game’s motley crew of playable characters – and as such, those who can fall prey to such an attack – includes humans, a faerie, a mermaid, a goblin, various anthropomorphic characters (a rabbit girl, a mushroom man, a turnip man, a living flower), a dog, a young dragon, a small furry mammal, a skeleton, a straw doll, a cyborg and an alien.
