Astro’s Playroom [PS5] – T-rex / Astro

Description: 

Once all four worlds are completed, a fifth level opens up with the subtitle “1994 Throwback.” Upon reaching the end of the brief level, the T-rex from the 1994 PlayStation tech demo appears as a boss. A view into its mouth can be seen as it roars at Astro Bot and spits enemies at him, and it will regularly use biting attacks, though this deals contact damage, rather than the T-rex actually swallowing him.

After defeating the T-rex, a robotic T-rex then appears and acts as the final boss. It behaves largely similarly to the first T-rex, but when defeated, Astro must grab its tongue and pull it so it strikes it in the face.

Mega Man X5 [PC, PS1] – Gulpfer R / X, Zero

Description: 

The mechanical fish-like enemies known as Gulpfer R can be found in Duff McWhalen’s stage. When approached, they will suck in the water around X or Zero to try to inhale and swallow them. If successful, their belly will distend significantly, and if no input is made, can be held inside for an extended period of time, though their health will deplete, as periodically, the Gulpfer R will ‘chew,’ causing gradual damage. The player can input to cause X or Zero to struggle to break free, destroying the Gulpfer R in the process.

Description: 

Big Mouser is an enemy that can first be encountered in Episode 5: King of the Spill, and is a large robotic mouse. While far away from any player characters, Big Mouser will normally spawn regular Mouser enemies by regurgitating them, but when near a player character, it will try to bite at them, trapping them in their mouth. During this time, the player can input to make the player character struggle and escape faster, but even if no input is made, they will eventually escape. If all HP is lost as a result of this, they will fall out of their mouth regardless.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time [PS3, Vita] – Moat Monster / Galleth

Description: 

In the fourth episode, Galleth the medieval raccoon will seek the moat monster in the caves. After climbing the tower inside, the sleeping moat monster, which in reality is a mechanical hydra, can be seen asleep. At one point Galleth must use its open mouth as a platform, and if timed incorrectly, the jaws can close on him, forcing him to restart from a recent checkpoint.

After ziplining a wire, Galleth will unplug the moat monster’s power supply, causing it to wake up and swallow him. The player will then take control of Carmelita. After defeating the moat monster, Galleth can be seen being expelled from the moat monster’s exhaust, covered in crude oil.

Description: 

In the sixth and final episode of the game, the player will control Dmitri the iguana in first-person perspective to retrieve Sly’s cane from the ocean. Dr. M will be encountered controlling the mutant fish, and Dmitri must defeat them. Occasionally, the mutant fish will try to suck Dmitri into its mouth, which is avoided by shooting Dr. M at this time. If Dmitri loses all of his health from this, he will not be spit out.

Description:

Round 5 of the game is the ice area, Planet Freon. The boss of this round is known as Itamor whose appearance varies between versions of the game. In the English version, Itamor is a slime monster, whereas in the original Japanese version, he is a blue robotic cat. Throughout the fight, Itamor will try to freeze Ristar with ice breath, and then inhale and chew on him, before spitting him out. If Ristar loses all his health this way, the screen just fades to black.

Description:

The first stage is known as Toxic Caves. At the bottom of the level in the water, the robotic serpent known as Rexxon can occasionally be seen swimming. After Sonic is launched onto the pinball playfield proper, if he falls between the flippers onto the platform, he is given a short opportunity to jump away and escape. If he fails to do so, Rexxon will emerge from the waters and grab Sonic with his mouth, who will struggle in vain as the jaws close on him and he is pulled under the water. Upon his next life, Sonic emerges from the water, implying he escaped from Rexxon.

Puppeteer [PS3] – Pumpkin / Kutaro

Description: 

The boss of Act 5, Curtain 2, is the giant Pumpkin. At the end of the level, Kutaro is thrown into the air, the Pumpkin appears and grabs Kutaro in their mouth, and chews, saying “Yum!”. The screen transitions to a closeup of Pumpkin’s mouth, which opens and closes, in attempt to chew Kutaro, who must bomb at cavities. Each time Kutaro successfully does this, Pumpkin will close their mouth completely, and Kutaro’s silhouette can be seen inside. Teeth will continue to try and chew him during this time. Kutaro must locate further cavities and body slam them, which transitions him back into the first phase. Upon beating the boss, the Pumpkin will explode, revealing it was a female character, Nebula, transformed, despite earlier having a masculine voice and masculine pronouns.
